HOW BIG IS THE GRAND CANYON?
The Grand Canyon is a very big hole in the ground.
It is 446 km long. It is up to 29km wide and 1800
meters deep.
WHEN WAS THE SMILEY FACE INVENTED?
In 1963, a commercial artist named Harvey Ball was hired to
design a smiley face for making employees at the State Mutual
Life Assurance Company a little happier for World Smile Day. In
about 10 minutes, Ball drew two dots and a smile into a yellow
circle and the smiley face was born.
WHICH COUNTRY HAS THE HIGHEST NUMBER
OF SPOKEN LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD?
Papua New Guinea has the highest number of spoken
languages in the world. There are 820 indigenous
languages spoken in this country. The official language
is Tok Pisin, or New Guinea Pidgin.
WHAT DAY DOES THE WEEK START?
According to the international standard ISO 8601, Monday shall
be the first day of the week ending with Sunday as the seventh
day of the week. Although this is the international standard,
countries such as the United States still have their calendars
refer to Sunday as the start of the seven-day week.
WHAT COLOR WAS THE ORIGINAL HULK?
Pasty gray. Originally, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby intended the
Hulk to be gray. But the printing press kept having trouble
with the Hulk's color and he kept coming out green. So, he
only spent the first few issues of his comic being gray.
