OUR RAMADAN

Was born on 6th September 2010. Lives in Başiskele. Goes to 7th Hunters at Private Nadide Secondary School. Dreams to be an English Teacher.
Ramadan is about to start and we had a chat in
our Hunters class. Our teacher said: “Ramadan
is the most important month for muslims. In
Ramadan, the reward for every good deed is
multiplied by 70. It is a great opportunity for us.”
We all were so excited. In the break, we stayed
in the class and I said: “Next week is Ramadan
and we can make it a different and better
Ramadan.” Ecem asked:” Like what?” I said: “We
can prepare a list.” Everyone started to share
their ideas. “Helping old people” “Distributing
food to people in need” “Putting food on the
streets for animals” “Spending time with the
elder people in our neighborhood” We had many
good ideas. So we made a plan. This Ramadan
will definitely be a better one for each of us. to go to the old people’s home again. Ravza loved
I told my parents about our plan. They were very
happy and said: “We can invite some guests
from Hatay. This can be your first good deed.” I
was so happy. The next day, my dad asked for a
family to come to our house. We all were sad
because of the earthquake in our country but
doing something good made us feel good.
On Monday, the family from Hatay arrived. They
were a small family. They had a daughter whose
name was Ravza. She was the same age like me.
She started on my school the Nadide School and
we were classmates. While we were talking, I
decided to talk about our campaign. I said to
her” Do you want to make a difference?” Ravza
asked:” Like what?” I told her about our ideas.
She said: “It’s amazing.” First day of Ramadan,
we had iftar together with our new family
members. We told our ideas to our families and
they said:” You can be tired while you are
fasting.” We said: “Allah will help us.”
On the second day of Ramadan after school, we
put food for the animals on the streets. We really
felt good because we love animals.
Sometimes our energy decreased and we just
wanted to eat and drink water. But we always
thought we were doing this for Allah.
Fourth day of Ramadan we went to the nearest
old people’s house. After one day there, we
decided to go there twice a week to help the
people and we also went to the animal shelter to
look after animals.
Last week of Ramadan after school we decided
old people. She always said:” They are like a kid.
They just want some love and attention.” We
went there and read them books. One of the old
aunts said us to:” I love you so much. Please
come again.” We were really happy. We said:” Of
course, we can come. We had a good time too.
We will come and stay more next time.” We
hugged the old aunt and we left.
The last day of Ramadan, we all were sitting at
the iftar meal. We talked about everything we did
all Ramadan. Our parents said: ”We are sorry for
what we said. We are proud of you.” My dad went
out and came back with some gifts. We were
really happy. We said: “Thank you” to our dads
and decided to go on with the campaign.
