of AFAD, UMKE, Kızılay and also lots
of volunteers from all around Türkiye
have helped and saved many of the
victims. Many countries have also
contributed to the search and rescue
work. The most amazing and greatest
helpers of all were the miners. These
real heroes work in great danger.
During the aftershocks, they risked their
lives by entering debris of buildings just
to save other people. They don’t care if
it snows, rains or if it is cold or icy. They
don’t work certain hours. They work for
hours and days, nonstop. We watch the
news and see the real heroes who don’t
need a super hero cloaks. They take
care of children, give their own boots to
earthquake victims, enter shaking
buildings, stay in debris for hours even
days. There are also other heroes that
need to be mentioned. We shouldn’t
forget the donators that we have
admired on TRT Tek Türkiye. There are
also the drivers of a supply trucks,
people who donate food and other
supplies and people who help to pack
them up, people who open their houses
for the victims, little kids donating their
savings, people who have been cooking
in the tent kitchen since the earthquake
and many more. Here we must also
remember our government with all its
members who have been at the
disaster since the beginning. Some
ministers haven’t slept for days.
