I will write to you about the best day of my life. I was at my grandparents’ village. It was the hazelnut day so everybody was busy with the hazelnuts, including me. My job was to turn the hazelnuts so the ones on the bottom could dry up too. While everyone was preparing for the machine to come, my other best friend came from Adapazarı/Sakarya.

We played lots of games. You might be a little jealous but you weren’t there so I played with him. When he went back home I had no choice but to wait for the hazelnut workers. Then I remembered that I had brought my favourite book with me. I read it from top to bottom with no break. It was quite good. In ten minutes the workers were going to come but ten minutes was like an hour. Finally ten minutes passed. I heard the big iron door open and the huge machine came into the garden. I was so excited, they set the machine and started it. It made a lot of noise. When they finished, there were millions of hazelnuts on the tarps. My grandparents picked the bad ones. When they finished, we played games in the hazelnuts like swimming, throwing them to the lamp post in the middle of the garden. After that it was half past seven. We had dinner and watched a football match on the old TV. Then it was time to sleep. And that was the end of my best day. by By M.Selim KANCA-5th Trackers
