I walked the dog after dinner last night and when it was time to return home, I decided to take a shortcut through the woods. On the edge of the wood stands a haunted house.  When I walked past the house, I heard a strange noise. Suddenly A ghost came out from behind a tree. I and the dog ran into the house.

The house was abandoned and very quiet. We walked upstairs. I turned on my torch. Then hundreds of bats flew all around the room. When the bats flew away, we looked around the second floor. My dog found a small door behind a bookshelf. There was a cobweb blocking the entrance. We didn’t go in there. We wanted to get out of the house but the ghost was out there somewhere but we didn’t know where. Then someone or something knocked at the door. My dog was really scared. The door was knocked again and this time it was louder. We looked out of the window. There was a strange figure standing in front of the door. Then it walked away. I heard a sound from the stairs. My dog went to check it out. Thankfully it was only a small rat. Then something broke the door and came in. I and my dog hid under a old table and listened to the footsteps with fear. It was the ghost we saw outside. It looked around the room to find us. It was getting closer to the table and us. Then we found a little gap and squeezed in it. It led us to behind the bookshelf. We had to open the door and get in before the ghost could see us or die. We went in. There was a dead person lying on the floor. His head was decapitated and there was blood around him. Suddenly out of nowhere the ghost came out from behind the door. It killed my dog and chased me. I ran out of the house and locked the door behind me with a hairpin. And I went home.
