Hi! My name is Zeynep and I had a really unusual and interesting summer holiday. The summer started really good. I went to my grandma’s house. It was in a village. There were animals in the fields. I had really enjoyable days. One day we went to a bazaar with my grandpa to buy a scarecrow for the field. Because we had big troubles with the crows.

They attacked our fields and ate our crops. The scarecrows were very expensive. Then we saw a man. He was very worried. He was selling a scarecrow. That one was so cheap. We bought it happily. The day and the day after the day nothing grew in our field. I was getting angry because of it. I decided to learn the reason so I didn’t sleep at nights. For two nights nothing happened. After that I stopped to watch. But I still couldn’t sleep. On that night I saw a man. He was jumping at the field and ruining our crops. I was mad and ran to him. I immediately jumped on him. He was so soft because he was not a human! He was a scarecrow! He was our scarecrow. I shouted. Then he shouted. He said:
—Go to your home. Come tomorrow night. Be careful! Be sure that nobody sees you. I will say you something.
I said “OK” then I went home. Next night I went there again. And he said to me:
—I’m not a bad scarecrow. A man did some magic on me. First it was good then he gave me a potion that changed my life. I do bad things. But I realize it after I do it. If you change the magic I can be a friend of you!
After that, I went to my science teachers. I read some books. I bought something to do magic. After one week I could do magic. I tried it on the scarecrow. And finally I managed it! I could do it! I was really happy.
And now when I go to my grandparent’s house, I always speak with my scarecrow friend!
