When my mother came to wake me up this morning, I didn’t want to wake up first but then it came to my mind that today is the first day of the Ramadan Eid and I got up from the bed with great joy. After washing my face, I wore my Eid clothes that I put on my bed last night.

After I got dressed, the bell rang and I opened the door. My father and my brother came from Eid prayer. After they came, we went to my grandmother for breakfast. After breakfast, I took my bag and I went out with my cousin. I love the Eid days very much because everybody became very happy. When we went out, everywhere was full of children. First, we went our neighbors to celebrate their Eid. Some people gave candy, some people gave pocket money to us. After we celebrate our neighbors Eid, then we went a little further. Again everywhere was full of children. We celebrated the Eid of the people we saw there. We went little further again and a little girl caught my attention. The little girl was standing in front of an old house behind the bars. Generally, children became happy on Eids but this little girl didn’t look happy. The little girl looks so innocent behind the bars that she is really cute. Her clothes were torn. When I looked at the little girl more carefully, I noticed that there were no shoes on her foot. She was standing barefoot. Her feet were injured. I approached the little girl and I gave her a candy. The little girl took it with embarrassedly and she smiled to me. At that time, an old lady came out of the house.  I thought the old lady was her grandmother. She opened the door for me. I kissed the hand of the old aunt and I celebrated her Eid. We had a little chat with the old aunt. The little girl’s name is Asel. As I guessed, the old aunt was Asel’s grandmother. Asel and aunt were very really good people. Aunt asked: do you want some water? I said ‘I can drink a glass of water. After aunt entered the house, Asel said to us: ‘Come in. I will show you my new toy’ and we entered in. There were almost no items in the house. Asel showed us her new toy. It was a doll made of socks. When the aunt came, she gave us our water and we drank it. After drinking our water, I asked the aunt where were Asel’s parents. Aunt said: ‘they died in a traffic accident.’ Since then, the old aunt has been looking after Asel. They live with the salary of her husband, because the old aunt didn’t work and her husband is dead. Her husband’s salary wasn’t enough for them because it was too low. When they paid the water bill, electricity bill and food expenses their money finished so she can’t get Asel’s needs and she can’t buy toys to her so she did toys with socks. After chatting with the aunt we stood up to go home. Asel said: ‘please come again’ and hugged us. We hugged her and we told her we will come again. After I went home, I told my parents everything and asked can we help them? My parents said, of course we can help. The next day, we went to the market before going to Asel’s house. We bought pasta, cheese, tomato, cucumber, bread, milk… from the market. Then we went shopping mall and we bought new toys, new clothes, new shoes for Asel and old aunt. After we bought these things, we went to Asel’s house. When Asel saw me, she jumped on my lap and hugged me. I also introduced my parents to the old aunt. They chatted and I gave new clothes and new toys to Asel and Asel became really very happy and surprised. Aunt thanked us so much. After that day we always went to visit their house.  Asel and me became like sister. The barefoot girl I first saw, now stood in front of me like a princess.
