When the last bell rang, everybody in the class started to pick up their bags. It was the final lesson.of the first week in 2020. I was so glad that we have welcomed the New Year because we had one day holiday! Okay just kidding.

The real reason was I could turn over a new leaf I mean I could start a new clear page in my life. But it didn’t welcome us as a clean page, more like the worst year to welcome…
“Don’t forget your assignment for Monday! If you don’t do it until the due date you have to buy chocolate for all the class!” said our teacher. “And also write the questions for the interview!” I started to think that teachers are giving more homework compared to last year (actually it was 5 days ago). My bag was like a big balloon which will pop if I put more books. I realized that there were still some books which I had to carry. I took some of them in my hands and started to walk to the garden.
The weekend was full of homework, assigments, extra tests and more. It was a rainy Sunday which made me feel so moody. I was feeling like something bad will happen. “Well it is all about the tests.” I thought. I actually love studying but not this much. And it was so hard to focus because of the TV talking about worldwide problems. I put on my headphones and turned on some music… Few songs later I finished one Math assignment with a tired head. I stopped the music and laid on the sofa. The TV programme was still on and they were still talking. Suddenly a “breaking news” popped on screen. The reporter was saying that a new type of Corona virus has been detected in China, Wuhan. It might spread all over the world. I closed the TV and again started my homework. It was weird that my feelings became real.
“After that Monday the media started to speak a lot about Corona virus. It was spreading too fast around the world and the number of infected people was increasing without stopping.”
“The virus has come to our neighbor countries. In Iran over 100 people died and over 1000 people got infected. The schools were on holiday because of the virus.”
That Wednesday night, after I watched the news, I continued the assignment for next Monday. (If I knew that it was going to be holiday I wouldn’t do it.) It took my hours to finish it, it was midnight when I went to the bed. I was scrolling down Instagram when I saw the news about the first Corona virus case in Turkey. I quickly went out of bed and turned on the television. All of the channels were showing the same thing. The minister of health was making a press statement on Corona virus. “It is officially announced that one person is infected with Corona virus in Turkey.” The reporter said. I closed the TV and went to sleep. “It was predictable that the virus would come to Turkey.” I thought…
When I entered the class next morning, a cloud of cologne and sanitizer had welcomed me. Everybody had been cleaning the school this morning with the stuff which they brought for themselves.
In all the lessons, everywhere was smelling with different flowers like lemon, lavender, olive and many more.” People are overreacting I thought because our school is cleaned every day. Washing our hands is enough. Anyways when the day ended I didn’t know that these were the last normal days of my life…
After those days I decided to write a diary everyday
-    18 MARCH 2020-
Today total of 92 people are infected and all of the cafes, bars, museums etc. are closed. Also Turkey closed the borders to Bulgaria and Greece. Today was “18 March Commemoration Our Martyrs” day but because of the virus no ceremony was made.
-    23 MARCH 2020-
Today was the first day of the online education, and it was like I predicted “nobody listened to the teachers.” Anyway, they’re giving tons of homework. Luckily the holiday will be 2 weeks longer so we can finish them until the school opens.
-    1 APRIL 2020-
Over 500.000 people are infected all around the world and there are 220 cases in Turkey. 10 people died because of the virus in Turkey. The online education is still continuing and it looks like it is easier than going to school. I hope that they’ll change the education system to this.
-    12 APRIL 2020-
Today it is now forbidden to go out not even for shopping! Everyday there are officials who are delivering food and water to homes. We never go out and never open the windows. We are using air purifiers instead of opening windows.

-    24 APRIL 2020-
It is nearly 40 days and the schools are still off. The LGS and YKS exams are delayed to 2021. Over 1 million people are infected and life in every city has stopped. The streets are empty. Over 2000 people got infected here and 100 died. But luckily the spreading speed of Covid-19 has decreased. Unfortunately every country is infected now…
-    8 MONTHS LATER-
1st January of 2021
After Corona virus stopped spreading in June 2020, it completely finished. But we are still indoors, the government is cleaning all the streets. The education stopped a few months ago, now we are in the delayed summer holiday. The economy of all countries are in problem. The grasshopper flocks passed from our country too, the stocks of food started to ran out. Government is saying that they will start farming one month later, when the cities are cleaned. All of the owners of restaurants, shops and markets are in a big trouble because they had to close their shops. We have passed tough days and I hope that we will start our normal lives again.

We are full of HOPE. INSHALLAH everything will be well but we will never forget the days after corona virus.
